About this training

How the 7-level blindfold chess trainer works

Each level isolates one skill and hands it to the next: square colors (level 1) and coordinates (level 2) anchor the mental board, piece movement drills (level 3) teach you to move across it without looking, position memory (level 4) holds full positions in your head, blindfold puzzles (level 5) make you calculate on the hidden board, limited-visibility games (level 6) remove the pieces gradually, and full blindfold play (level 7) puts you against Stockfish with nothing on the screen. Fifteen minutes a day is enough: most players reach their first full blindfold game in 2 to 4 months. The blindfold chess guide explains the method behind the ladder, and the guided journey walks you through it step by step.

What is free and what is Pro

Levels 1 to 3 are free with unlimited exercises, and no account is needed to start. A free account adds saved progress, streaks, XP, and the leaderboard. A one-time Pro Lifetime purchase unlocks levels 4 to 7, all 8 AI difficulties, famous games, and endgame drills. There is no subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Is the blindfold chess trainer free?

Levels 1 to 3 (square colors, coordinates, piece movement) are free with unlimited exercises, and no account is needed to start. A one-time Pro Lifetime purchase unlocks levels 4 to 7: position memory, blindfold puzzles, limited-visibility games, and full blindfold play.

How long until I can play a full blindfold game?

Most players reach their first full blindfold game after 2 to 4 months of daily 15-minute training. The 7-level path builds the skill progressively, so you always train at the edge of your current level.

What should I train first?

Start with square colors and coordinates: they anchor the mental board every other skill relies on. Then follow the guided journey through piece movement, position memory, and blindfold puzzles before attempting full games.

Do I need an account to train?

No. All free exercises work without signing up. A free account adds saved progress, streaks, XP, and the leaderboard.
